Guess we’re not done with an era of the #metoo as American fashion designer Alexander Wang is facing allegations of sexual assault. In the past month, more and more victims came forward telling their stories.

Where did it start?

A British model, Owen Mooney, publicly claimed that Wang had groped his crotch at the nightclub in New York on 21 January 2017. “I was by myself at one point and this guy next to me obviously took advantage of the fact that no one could fucking move and he just started, like, touching me up,” Mooney said in his brief TikTok clip. “And fully like, up my leg, in my crotch, like it made me freeze completely because I was in such shock. I looked to my left to see who it was and it was this really famous fashion designer. Like, I couldn’t believe that he was doing that to me. It made me go into even more shock. It was really fucked up.”” I was by myself at one point and this guy next to me obviously took advantage of the fact that no one could fucking move,” Mooney, 26, alleged. “And he just started touching me up. Fully up my leg, in my crotch. It made me freeze completely because I was in so much shock.”

Also, Instagram accounts Diet Prada and Shit Model Management reported numerous sexual assault allegations against Alexander Wang, most of them – anonymous.

What did Alexander Wang say?

Alexander Wang did respond a couple of days later on his Instagram account, saying these accusations are “baseless and grotesquely false.”

As the allegations spread on social media this week, Wang’s Instagram account was modified so that it could no longer receive comments.

“Seeing these lies about me being perpetuated as truths has been infuriating,” the designer, 37, said. “I have never engaged in the atrocious behaviour described and would never conduct myself in the manner that’s been alleged.” “I intend to get to the bottom of this and hold accountable whoever is responsible for originating these claims and viciously spreading them online.”

More and more stories

Other people that came forward say Alexander Wang drugged them, pressured them to drink, or even raped them. Well, these accusations aren’t the first. Wang has been accused of sexual misconduct before. Some online accusations date back to as early as 2017. Most victims are sharing their stories anonymously via Shit Model Management Instagram account.

#USTOO

With more and more people talking about the inappropriate behavior of Alexander Wang, a new movement was born. Apparently, people talked about Wang’s behavior before but never dared to come forward publicly, but this time, it came back to haunt every preditor with the #USTOO movement. Recently, Model Alliance – a research, policy & advocacy organization for those working in the fashion industry – published a statement standing in solidarity with accusers.

There will be blood

Attorney Lisa Bloom announced she would represent several men accusing Wang. A self-proclaimed women’s rights advocate is known for getting Bill O’Reilly kicked off of Fox News over sexual harassment claims.

Nevertheless, she also represented film producer and convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein.
