While the salons have been closed, lash artists have stayed productive during the latest lockdown, with online trainings or copious hours of practice. Now our doors have been flung wide open again (and will hopefully be staying that way), we know you are all desperately wanting your favorite treatments or even looking to try something new and exciting.

If you are someone on the hunt for the next up-and-coming treatment or want to try out the latest trend for yourself, we’ve done the research for you! So you can pop to your local lash artist and tell what you want. We analyzed current trends so we can all keep up-to-date, even while we’ve been remote. Here are your most popular trends for 2021.

Lash lift

Lash lift is one of those treatments that will never go out of style. Quicker and cheaper than lash extensions and, with the right care, they can last even longer than lash extensions. Lash lift is a great option for you if you’re new to the world of enhancing your natural beauty and don’t want to take the plunge with eyelash extensions yet! The lash lift treatment is more subtle. It only enhances your existing lashes by lifting from the root and then setting, rather than adding more like you would during the process of having eyelash extensions applied.

Kim K styling

As adorned by the queen of the Kardashians herself, the effortlessly wispy look has become wildly popular over the past year. Who doesn’t love a bit of Kim K styling? This look is iconic and still is the most commonly asked for style right now. Their subtle spikes and varying lengths give lashes that natural, off-duty model look. This look is ideal for those who want the volume of lash extensions but love subtle styling instead of your usual doll or cat lashes. This is a fairly new style of the lash, so make sure to find yourself a lash artist who is fully trained and can give you that perfectly messy look with correct technique and safety in mind.

M curl lashes

If you’ve been out of the loop due to lockdown, then you need to brush up on M curl lashes. These are the latest trend in lash extensions, and everyone is going mad for them, thanks to their amazing results and beautiful curl style. It’s the perfect middle ground when you don’t want a curl as dramatic as L or L+ Lashes, but a D curl just isn’t enough for you.

Brow lamination

We all know Brow lamination has quickly swept the industry as the next big thing in beauty. With brows being one of our most prominent facial features thanks to celebrities like Cara Delevingne, the pressure to keep them Flawless is prominent now more than ever before. The art of creating beautifully fluffy & natural-looking brows is the secret weapon we all need to give that boost to our confidence. So why not try Brow Lamination? It’s the perfect alternative to the lengthy process of undergoing micro-blading while still restructuring brows and framing the eyes with a just-combed effect. You can even have your brows tinted to give them added definition and stand out from the crowd during this process. What more could you want!?

We would recommend getting yourself a good brow gel to keep this look maintained in-between appointments. You want to look for one with nourishing ingredients such as castor oil or aloe vera, so you will be caring for your lashes while also shaping them to your desired style. Look for one that isn’t too harsh and can be removed easily with water, as strong products can leave your brows feeling crispy or leave residue behind even after you’ve taken off your makeup. It’s a simple step to add to your daily routine but a BIG one if you love to tame your brows into a particular shape.

Lash serum

Lash serum is perfect for when you’re trying to boost your natural lashes between appointments. It’s safe to use whether you’re getting eyelash extension or lash lift treatments. Did you know that people search for lash serums 150% more during lockdown than the same months in the previous year? So make sure to get your hands on one to keep your lashes healthy and in tip-top shape while you wait for your next appointment. All you need to do is swipe along your lash line every evening after taking off your makeup and let your chosen lash serum work its magic overnight. Keep this up, and you’ll have luscious, long lashes in no time.

Know what you want

Your beauty tech will be your best friend if you go in knowing exactly what you want! So familiarise yourself with these trends, think about what works best, and find somebody who can do what you want! It’s important to remember that if your lash tech has been well trained, they will know what it is best to keep you and your lashes healthy, so they may not always be able to carry out everything you want, especially when it comes to eyelash extensions. But don’t be disheartened, you can always work together to achieve the look that you want in other ways. So, whether that’s eyelash extensions, lash lift, or brow lamination you’re after, there will be a lash artist out there ready and trained to suit your needs.
